POSITION:
LEAD BATCHER

WORK LOAD:
FULL TIME

DESCRIPTION   Wachusett Brewing Co., a craft beverage brewer since 1994, is experiencing and forecasting incredible growth in its RTD & FMB Division. We are seeking a Lead Batcher to manage and lead this growth.  This position will further incorporate the division into the existing brewery process and leverage our current business and equipment to maximize future potential.  This will include integrating our new blending skid, balancing carbonation, flavors and ABV.  This is a management-level position with full benefits and reports to the Director of Brewery Operations.          

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Direct the production team on all aspects required to produce a high-quality product
- Work with the Master Planner and procurement team to schedule production
- Prepare SOPs related to mix-blend operations and ensure team understanding of and adherence to those
   procedures
- Champion product quality and work with QA/QC team to ensure First Pass Quality
- Review all formulations for TTB compliance and manage formula revisions when necessary
- Perform Orchestrated Beer functions as dictated by mix-blend operations
- Integrate the RTD/FMB Division with existing WBC process, procedure and personnel
- Contribute to the new product development process
- Oversee and operate mixer equipment per established procedures
- Understand mixing, piping and valve system for batching tanks
- Complete assigned paperwork accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner
- Prepare and mix ingredients to produce finished base from calculation for bottling, canning, and premix/post-
   mix operations based upon number of cases and tanks scheduled for production
- Perform or assist with mixing and or staging of ingredients
- Operate metering systems and verify correct ingredients are used and mixing instructions are followed from
   batch ticket
- Visually inspects batch quality before sending samples to the lab
- Maintain accurate records of lot numbers and batching
- Work independently or collaboratively to produce a quality product
- Supports daily operations by mixing products per the current schedule
- Reports product safety and quality issues to Brewery Operations Director

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS  
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Two+ years of food, beverage or other relevant manufacturing experience
- Chemical compounding experience a plus
- Excellent math & problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to details
- Work within a team environment to support and help all team partners in daily job duties
- Possess a sense of urgency, high energy and a great attitude 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
-
Ability to work safely in a wet, noisy, and non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Ability to withstand cold temperatures in coolers and hot temperatures in production environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, bending, stooping, crouching and lifting.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
