POSITION:
FINANCE DIRECTOR

WORK LOAD:
FULL TIME

DESCRIPTION   Wachusett Brewing Company is looking for an experienced, hands on Finance Director to lead and direct the activities of the Finance Department. The position reports directly to the President and is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The director of finance also oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and payroll and risk management.          

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS   
1. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
2. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
3. Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing cash balances and making investments.
4. Provides status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting & reporting key financial data.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements.
6. Advise management of actions and potential risks.
7. Arranges for audits as required and appropriate.
8. Manages budget and controls expenses.
9. Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively.
10. Keeps up-to-date on information & technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation & ensure
   compliance. 

RESPONSIBILITY OVERVIEW  
- Partner with senior business leaders on financial and capital budgeting/forecasting.
- Lead the financial modeling capabilities for real time analysis of operational efficiencies to improve the
  company’s financial performance, including the creation and delivery of enhance management reports, key
  performance indicators and dashboards that allow key business partners to better understand their business and
  make informed decisions.
- Lead the development of financial scenarios to explore long-term strategic plans.
- Deliver business insight, reporting and analysis to the President.
- Lead the Finance team in (LEAN Manufacturing) the identification, quantification and execution of all brewery
  gross margin improvement / supply chain optimization / cost reduction projects.
- Lead the development of all capital budgets (Plan & NPD).
- Ensure Return on Investment (ROI) / financial assessment of Brewery initiated projects prior to submission for
  approval and evaluate on an on-going basis.
- Integrate with the company’s procurement processes to assure spending and investment remains in line
  approved budgets.
- Provide leadership, direction, and development to Brewery team members. Ensure the linkage of common goals
  and objectives between the groups, partner with brewery management teams in the delivery of all operational/
  financial commitments and ensure complete integrity of brewery financial results.
- Direct on – time reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual operations financial results. assure accurate and
  timely GL close and reporting.
- Lead the development of LE and annual product cost of goods (material losses and brewery conversion costs)
  planning and analyze and report against actual results.
- Evaluate operations processes and streamline where appropriate.
- Other special projects at the request of leadership.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA preferred
- 5-10 years related financial leadership experience required, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis,
  and building financial models in the Consumer Products and/or Beverage Industries.
- Knowledge of consumer products, product mix impacts, cost structure.
- A solid leader and team player, with the ability to build strategic partnerships and to engage, develop and
  motivate their team.
- Ability to influence business decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; comfortable communicating with all levels.
- Extremely well organized, data driven and comfort managing multiple projects/ stakeholders.
- Experience with Orchestrated Beer, OEE, and all Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
